Creative Loafing has unveiled their voting poll for the Best of TampaBay 2010. Check it out below to see how you can help the chapter.
To make sure our voice is heard, let’s consider some of the categories where we could fill a gap on our much needed influence for change:
http://botbvote.com/ The category is: People, Places & Politics
Instructions: Vote for at least five items in the People, Places & Politics category below. Then submit your votes and move on to one of the remaining three categories at your leisure. But remember: Don’t leave People, Places & Politics before you’ve cast all your votes, because you can’t return and vote again from the same email address.
Under the People, Places and Politics link, the chapter has a few suggestions:
Best Weather person (10th entry): Brooks Garner – Brooks has stepped up for the chapter in providing local surf forecasts on a local level. Nothing beats a local news station helping our chapter to get coverage!
Best CL Tampa.com Contributor (12th): Jessica Respondek - Since being accepted as a Green Contributor, she has helped promote coverage on issues and events the Suncoast Chapter Surfrider Foundation has felt needing of support on both locally and Nationally.
Worst New idea for Tampa Bay (35th) & Most Overrated (36th): Upham T-groins –An experimental project which has cost taxpayers millions of dollars, and without an Environmental Management Division in Pinellas County, the chapter sees no educated decision being made to continue to spend millions more.
Most Underrated Thing About Tampabay (37TH): SURFING! Of course you all have come across someone telling you – “there is no surf in the Gulf!” Well let’s show them Gulf surf matters!
